A new adult education centre has opened in Grantham to support people looking to retrain and develop their careers. 3 Counties Accounts Training Services (3CATS) officially opened its expanded facility at The Old Malthouse on Springfield Road on Friday 4 September, with the opening marked by Councillor Nikki Manterfield, councillor for Springfield Ward.
The centre has been established to meet growing demand for flexible, practical training designed around the needs of adult learners and corporate clients. The larger premises allow 3CATS to expand its course programme, increase training space and provide a modern learning environment.
What courses are offered
3CATS provides personalised adult training in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and business skills for individuals and businesses. The courses combine practical learning, flexible study options and supportive tutoring to help people build confidence and develop professional knowledge.
Why the expansion matters
Kym Harper, Director and Head of Curriculum of 3CATS, said: "This new centre means we can say yes to more people. We meet adults every day who want to move forward but may not know where to start. They might be returning to learning after years away, looking for a career with real prospects or simply wanting the confidence to take that next step. Our job is to make training feel achievable."
Councillor Nikki Manterfield said: "Learning should be accessible to people at every stage of life. Grantham is full of people with ambition looking to change direction or build skills for the next stage of their career and having quality training available locally can make a real difference."
The opening event was attended by learners, local businesses and supporters of 3CATS, who toured the facilities and learned more about available courses and corporate training options.
