South Kesteven District Council (SKDC) has completed the first stage of improvements to the swimming changing areas at Meres Leisure Centre in Grantham. The work included a deep clean and replacement of communal changing cubicles, showers, ceilings, lighting, doors and washroom facilities.

Part of Wider Investment Programme

The changing rooms upgrade is the first phase of a £1m refurbishment programme across SKDC leisure facilities. Similar work has already been carried out at Stamford Leisure Pool. Bourne Leisure Centre and South Kesteven Sports Stadium are next in line for improvements.

The second phase of the programme will focus on customer-facing areas in each venue. Details of Phase 2 are currently being developed.

Council Commitment to Community Assets

Cllr Paul Stokes, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture, said: "We are very much aware that our leisure facilities are important community assets and we are delighted to be making this substantial investment to improve the experience for everyone who visits. SKDC is committed to providing visitors with outstanding leisure facilities where they can exercise, improve their health, take up new activities and socialise through clubs and community events."
