Grantham Bike Night will take place on Thursday 6 August from 5pm to 9pm in Grantham Market Place and surrounding streets. The free public event features live music, food, drink and performances from four rock acts, with hundreds of bikes expected to attend.
Temporary road closures will be in place to accommodate the event. Conduit Lane, Grantham Market Place and Narrow Westgate will close from 2pm to 11pm on the day, with closures affecting parking and loading bays. Conduit Lane Car Park will close from 12pm onwards to provide space for bikes.
These closures coincide with Lincolnshire Highways' carriageway reconstruction and major improvement works on the Grantham Gyratory. Residents and visitors are advised to plan journeys carefully. Nearby alternative parking is available at Welham Street Multi-Storey (NG31 6QU), Guildhall Street (NG31 6NJ) and Watergate (NG31 6NS), with other public car parks available across the town centre.
Music and Exhibitors
The main stage music line-up runs as follows: 5pm – Wild Summer; 6pm – Castella; 7pm – D!abla; 8pm – Band From County Hell.
Key exhibitors include motorcycle retailer GP Motorcycles, sales and restoration experts Motorcycle Reclamation, Barkston Refinishing, Iconic Parts, Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes, Advanced Motorcycle Safety trainers and Lincolnshire Police Cadets. Visiting bike clubs include Triumph III Owners, Wrinkly Rideouts and the Trail Riders Fellowship.
Cllr Paul Stokes, Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure and the council's Deputy Leader, said the event is designed to appeal to all ages. The inaugural event last year proved popular, and organisers expect to repeat that success.
