Councillor Charmaine Morgan has announced improvements to security at Wyndham Park following calls to tackle antisocial behaviour and other issues in the town's parks.

According to the South Kesteven District Council Cabinet lead for Leisure and Culture, Wyndham Park will receive a higher police presence and an upgrade of CCTV cameras.

Other parks still waiting for coverage

Councillor Morgan said CCTV coverage in Dysart Park has yet to be provided, despite previous calls for it. CCTV coverage in the London Road and University Square area was approved but delivery remains in progress.

Volunteer patrols planned

A group of volunteers is planning to patrol the parks. Councillor Morgan called on them to engage with St Vincent's ward councillors to ensure coordinated work and the safety of all involved.

Reporting crime

Councillor Morgan stressed the importance of reporting all incidents to the appropriate authority to help secure necessary resources. Crime can be reported to Lincolnshire Police at https://www.lincs.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/

Councillor Morgan also asked Grantham Town Council to review the future management of the parks in light of local government reorganisation changes. The parks are currently SKDC assets and will fall under Lincolnshire Council management under the new structure.
