Grantham's Marketplace will host the Medieval Onion Fair on Saturday 10 October, combining history, entertainment and food in a day-long event running alongside the monthly Farmers Market and regular market.

What to expect

The Knights of Skirbeck will operate six stalls showcasing different aspects of medieval life, including displays from an armourer, blacksmith, tanner, candlemaker and medieval clothing and textiles, plus an information stall.

The Rutland Renaissance Dancers will perform medieval dances throughout the day, host a dance workshop and put on a medieval fashion show.

Regular market traders will dress in medieval costume and add onion-themed products, displays and decorations to their stalls. Onion and medieval-themed food will be available.
